Laguna Niguel, incorporated on first of December, 1989, is a prosperous professionally planned community situated in the San Joaquin Hills of southern Orange County, California. The name Laguna Niguel is gotten from the Spanish words Laguna (lagoon) and Nigueli (the name of a Juaneño Indian village once situated close to Aliso Creek). The city of Dana Point towards the south separates the Pacific Ocean and Laguna Niguel. On the east side, Laguna Niguel is isolated from San Juan Capistrano by a noteworthy edge running along Trabuco Creek. Towards the north lie Aliso Viejo and Laguna Hills. Laguna Niguel is bordered by Laguna Beach and Mission Viejo.

Prior, the building was highlighted in a closure scene for the 1975 science fiction movie Death Race 2000. In 1983, it served as the central command in the movie Deal of the Century.
